A magnitude-4.2 earthquake rattles parts of Southern California from the mountains east of Los Angeles.

There is shaking in the San Fernando Valley, Long Beach, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange County, and other places due to an earthquake that is centred near Lytle Creek in San Bernardino County.

A large region, including Long Beach, Carson, sections of the San Fernando Valley, Riverside, San Bernardino, and parts of Orange County, experienced shaking.

Five months later, the catastrophic San Fernando Earthquake of magnitude 6.5 struck.
